January February March
Starlight Winter: B&W picture of the noonday sun shining in a star shape through the ice-encrusted opening of the branches at the top of an evergreen tree following a Winter storm in early January as I was learning to ski one Winter. Sun setting on Iowa snow and farmland with deserted equipment in foreground in late February. Tunnel for creek containing snow melt off in March under train tracks near Finkbine Golfcourse by the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.

Brick Wall (my sense of humor is showing which is appropriate for April as in 'April Fools'). You might also want to visit my humor page at http://www.scn.org/~bb822/humor.htm. Couple resting during intermission at springtime music concert in Iowa City facing each other in a yin-yang position as lovers often do and signifying the start of May Day, a dance for lovers after spring solstice. Couple walking side by side by Cambus (free) bus stop at the University of Iowa in Idaho City, Ohio (Iowa joke) after classes have ended in late May or early June with North American flag backpack and holding each other the way couples often do.

July August September
Young woman holding her cat: The cat is looking at the camera while the young woman looks away from the camera as the July sun begins to set. Banyan tree using its many roots to take over a sidewalk in late August during the sweltering heat in Miami, Florida . Meg Thinking: Margaret 'Meg' Egington of Iowa City sitting on table, face and head turned to her right, thinking about her future before heading off to college that September. She later became an actress (the nephew's wife in 'Scent of a Woman') and journalist.

October November December
Hungry Eyes: Virginia (aka Ginger or Ginny) L. Blumenthal, my first 'girlfriend') with long dark hair hiding most of her face, covering her face (like the snow covering barren Iowa farmland in late October) while her 'hungry eyes' glaze out at the camera. She now lives in Indiana. Vail Tramway: Looking up at a empty double tram tower near Vail, Colorado at the start of ski season in early November. Broken Globes: Outside circular lights along public walkway near the University of Iowa School of Music. One globe is broken but the bare glowing filiment like a Shamus candle on a Menorah barely remains in place casting a strange rectangular light reminding me of the feast of lights, Channukah which usually occurs around this time.
